Located on the Gulf of Thailand, Sihanoukville is one of Cambodia’s most popular beach resorts, attracting nearly two million visitors last year according to the Cambodian Ministry of Tourism.
It still remains a gateway to explore the regions powdery white beaches and numerous islands. This southern beachside town is gradually becoming an essential Cambodian tourism hub embarking on a new wave of modern development. There are a host of rental houses, apartments, modern development blocks, contemporary houses, villas, and condos in Sihanoukville to choose from suiting a range of budgets. The most expensive properties can be found closer to the city center near Ekerach Street whilst properties between Ochheuteal Beach and Tor Pir offer significant investment potential. Further commercialization in the area has led to a sharp rise in foreign interest with increased rental rates. Shophouses fall into the mid-price category and can generally be found around Sangkat Boun.
Although kitchens and facilities are basic, these properties usually extend across three or four floors and can be rented individually or as a complete house. One and two bedroom apartments are better equipped but are slightly pricier and situated in and around the Mittakpheap District. The most recent upturn can be seen close to the pristine beachfront area of Sihanoukville notably in Sangkat Buon and Sangkat Bei.

This once former seaport is dominated by glorious beaches and excellent growth when it comes to the real estate sector. Take a boat trip or simply marvel at the impressive 150 species of birds that call this national park their home. Culture vultures can visit Sihanoukville’s biggest market Pshar Leu with all manner of items on sale, whilst the hilltop Buddhist inspired Wat Leu has majestic scenic views.
